  • Nascar confiscated part from all 4 Hendrick teams Friday. Thoughts?

Interesting. I doubt that someone at Hendrick would be stupid enough to put modified parts on all four cars for the same race knowing that it is a big risk to put all four of your cars in jeopardy of hefty fines and points penalties. If they are illegal then why would they be allowed to practice with them if an official knew something wasn't right?

I agree....interesting. Wonder what they're up to? It was the first go 'round for the new downforce package so I wonder if they found a few extra pounds in how those louvers flow air? Will be watching what NASCAR does here and how big a story this becomes.

The 5 and 48 HMS cars certainly had some speed in that practice but the 24 was 20th. Not going to focus on the 9 for obvious reasons but the article said they took them from all four cars so hmmmmm?

I would tend to agree that they may have found something. New louvers weren't even part of the new aero package. Or maybe this is a distraction for what they're REALLY doing haha

Maybe has to do with sweeping top 3 spots at Vegas!

I think it's 50/50 if they get a penalty or not. I really don't think it affected the cars, however, I'm more concerned about a 100 pt penalty for single source part modification. Good thing Byron has 2 wins lol.

NASCAR was adamant they would come down hard if there were any attempted modifications of the NexGen car…they took Pocono away from Denny for a piece of tape. If the part was modified they need to show consistency and drop the hammer…

Here is my two cents, they admitted that parts like these were handed to the teams, and they were having fitting problems..... Nascar said check with the parts provider. Is this playing with a part for an advantage? Seeing as after they were confiscated all four cars basically ran faster after confiscated parts were taken off the car???

            Leaves alot of questions...

NASCAR permitted the 5, 9, 24, 31, and 48 teams to use the hood louvers for the 50 min practice but THEN took them back to the R&D center. All crew chiefs fined $100,000 and suspended 4 races.

All cars replaced the louvers and passed pre race inspection.

I had a good feeling that Denny's podcast would stir some stuff up. I mean he opened his mouth to far on that deal.
