Worried about the lack of throwbacks revealed thus far.

I am too, but in Cup with the number placement being what it is, I have zero excitement for it anymore.

Throw backs are beginning to phase out now... I used to love the excitement build up, and the schemes were a cool thing to do.... But now not alot of them are into it anymore. Sucks.

Also a lot of the companies don't want their logos altered in any way so it makes some difficult to do. Keenparts was the best cause they gave GoFAS the freedom to make some awesome schemes.

Like anything there's only so much you can do before the good ideas are all used up. Maybe we should look at this another way and do some "throwback" rules for the weekend. Like no lucky dog, points for leading laps, leading the most laps. Or even try an oval with no caution stage breaks. Something along those lines. Tough to do, I know, with it being a true points paying race. Maybe we consider an All-Star event for the track one year in place of the throwback. Yes I know again, dates, dates, dates but the Covid era proved we can do just about anything.

I do understand it from a sponsor's standpoint. Brand indetifty and awareness are important. Allowing things to be changed up with colors/logos only registers with the most die hard of NASCAR fans. I hate to say abandon it but good things only last so long.

The throwback race is literally my favorite part of the entire season. It's so cool to see all the history that I didn't get to experience on track, right in front of my eyes

Yep I love seeing the creativeness.... but looks like its losing ground now.

Up to what point/year/generation is a paint scheme a throw back ? Are they running out of options? or re-do's?
When I started watching on TV, all the cars were black and white............

That’s pretty cool. I like when they go for some of the more obscure schemes like that. Plus, most of those from the late 90’s were produced in large qty’s so if someone wants to display an original with their throwback scheme diecast, the ol Hut Stricklan ones are pretty cheap. Most of the iconic schemes have been done at this point. I hope more teams will mine the small ‘90’s teams paint schemes now. It might help throwback weekend keep going longer and being fun.

I love this one because it goes against anything they have ever done before! Now this is a special throwback!
