That is a Stunning paint scheme on the 24. I am really worried how good the die cast will actually turn out. Can't be any worse than the Byron Kobe tribute diecast I Hope!!!

Lionel did state on their Twitter last week that they received a paint sample from the team, so hopefully it matches up pretty good

They already said it wont change color and its a wrap on the car... Such a let down that they wont even try to get it right...

They said "it does not to appear to change color" with the decal sample they were given but it might once it's all over a diecast. We'll just have to wait and see.

My favorite thing about the Sanchez truck is the name in painted script on the door above the number. That is frickin killer! Not my favorite scheme, but definitely nailed that aspect.

Somebody can correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure the actual car is more of a metallic finish wrap (not the same color changing finish that the ‘98 car had). For some reason the Next Gen cars aren’t allowed to be painted and are all wrapped. The car still looks damn good, but it isn’t going to have the same effect as the original Gordon car. Lionel is going to produce the car to match what the team gave them so it should be accurate to what we see Byron race on Sunday

Overall, the Xfinity teams did a much better job on throwbacks than Cup this year. Cup teams seem to be getting lazier and lazier, with some exceptions.

Moody was talking about this with Bayne on their usual Tuesday hour this week and Trevor echoed what some of us mentioned here as far as it sort of wearing off. Doesn't have the same feel and fun it did when it was new, especially as we run out of options.

I totally agree though. Just seems the sponsors are more flexible with changing things up with colors/fonts, etc. to accomodate the true idea of a good throwback. I really love all the Harvick ones. Some of the Cup teams don't even bother anymore and others do such a miserable job they may as well not of even bothered.

I think it could still be great if teams would quit recycling the same old schemes. Do some oddball stuff. Like JRM is doing the Hut Stricklin Circuit City. RCR is doing the old Harvick schemes that haven’t been done. Stuff like that could give it more life. We’ve seen the rainbow warrior, gray ghost, every Petty scheme known to man, etc. multiple times.

Byron's car on track is chromalusion ...... Lionel has already stated the diecast won't be..... love the effect of that paint scheme on track.

Not sure, ghost. I’m not seeing it change much. The Gordon car back in the day would change from a goldish brown to purple then to green.

Its changing.... this scheme is a little darker than the old version. It transitions from brownish, to dark, to light... pretty cool to see it.

Wow that 24 car looks Amazing in those twitter videos. I just hope Lionel will make an effort to make sure the color is right even if it does not change color. For those of us who not only bought the standard Elite from Lionel but for those of us who spent $250 for the duel autograph. I think it's very important to follow up with China to make sure the color is the right color and not just any color that looks brown. These are not Racing Champions or Winner Circle lets not pass them on as such.
